The local standard for cleaning eggs needs to be upgraded to the national standard
Classification:
In recent years, there have been media reports of egg salmonella poisoning. In fact, these reports are just the tip of the iceberg. The survey shows that most of the eggs sold in the Chinese market are "dirty eggs" that have not been treated, and there are huge safety risks. According to researcher Li Chaanguo, executive director of the China Poultry Industry Association, the surface of "dirty eggs" may be contaminated with pollutants such as chicken manure, and Salmonella, Escherichia coli, and avian influenza viruses may spread through residues on the surface of eggshells, endangering human health.

It is understood that Hubei Shendan Company has introduced the world's advanced processing equipment. Through eight processes such as cleaning and drying, ultraviolet sterilization, oil coating and preservation, removing scattered yellow eggs, removing cracked eggs, weighing and grading, and code spraying and packaging, Hubei Shendan Company is the first company in China to launch "cleaning eggs".
The "Local Standard for Cleaning Eggs" drafted by Hubei Shendan Company was formally implemented two years ago. "Standard" to make a clear definition of "clean eggs": the selection of fresh eggs in line with national standards after cleaning, drying, sterilization, spraying code, coating and other processing products. The Standard also strictly limits the physical and chemical indicators such as salmonella, heavy metals and drug residues.
Unfortunately, this standard has not been widely implemented in the egg industry. At present, China's national standard GB2748 for fresh eggs only requires the appearance of eggshells, such as "clean" and other words, and does not require the detection of Salmonella, Escherichia coli and so on. The market is still "dirty eggs rampant". In this regard, Li Chaoguo and other experts have repeatedly called for the "Local Standard for Cleaning Eggs" to be upgraded to a national standard to strengthen consumers' food safety intentions.
