Food Science and Technology Association: 12 authoritative experts to interpret the hot food safety events in 2013

China Net Finance, January 10 (Reporter Sun Jie) On January 9, 2014, the Chinese Society of Food Science and Technology held the "2013 Food Safety Hotspot Scientific Interpretation Media Communication Conference" in Beijing, aiming at 12 domestic food safety hotspots in 2013 The incident was scientifically analyzed by 12 domestic authoritative experts and interpreted one by one. This is also the organizer of the same theme for three consecutive years. The experts who interpreted the 12 hot events in China are all discipline leaders in this field. The scientific opinions expressed at the meeting have also been fully discussed by industry experts before the meeting, which basically represents the "scientific and technological consensus" in China's food field ".

According to the person in charge of the organizer, food safety is one of the hot topics that people are concerned about, and it is also the focus of government work. Although the foundation of China's food safety is gradually being consolidated, people's anxiety is still increasing. In 2013, 12 domestic food safety hot spots caused media and public concern, worry and dissatisfaction. Therefore, it is very necessary to resolve the doubts of the people with scientific truth, to increase positive energy through the voices of the scientific and technological circles and the media, and to jointly fill the "information vacuum" between consumers and scientific truth.

These problems are selected from nearly 30 hot events declared by China Network, China Economic Network and other cooperative media. It can be seen that raw material pollution and malicious fraud are the key words in 2013. Meng Suhe, chairman of the Chinese Society of Food Science and Technology, pointed out that the 36 hot food safety issues that have occurred in the past three years have truly focused the society's concerns and anxieties about China's food safety issues. From the distribution of different hot issues in the past three years, it can be clearly seen that the focus of public opinion is gradually penetrating into the origin of China's food safety.

According to the analysis of hot food safety events from 2011 to 2013, the hot food safety events focused on convenience food and illegal addition from 2011 to 2012, focusing on standards and process control, while the public opinion in 2013 focused on raw material pollution and malicious fraud. Meng Suhe said that from "illegal addition" to "process control" and then to "raw material safety", the shift of focus of food safety hot events from 2011 to 2013 not only shows the cognitive process of "crisis response to risk prevention" gradually formed by all parties, but also shows the traceability track extending to the front end of the industrial chain. At the same time, it shows that the focus of public opinion is generally connected with the focus of China's food safety; and it is consistent with the central government's judgment on "the key to food safety lies in the source" in 2013.

Meng Suhe pointed out that "the distribution of 36 food safety incidents from 2011 to 2013 was sudden and scattered, involving various fields affecting food safety." Among them, four key areas have received more attention: first, China's convenience food industry, characterized by the industrialization of traditional food, accounts for 28%; Second, disputes and doubts about standards, accounting for 17%. Third, incidents involving raw material pollution and process control accounted for 11%. In addition, the dairy industry has always received high attention, accounting for 11%. Chinese food represented by infant milk powder still lacks sufficient trust from consumers. Any negative report related to food safety can always cause extreme panic among consumers, which is also the concentration of China's food safety "trust crisis.

Experts at the meeting also analyzed foreign food safety incidents. Experts at the meeting agreed that food safety issues have broken through national boundaries and are widespread in both developing and developed countries, which not only harms human health, but also damages the image of the industry and the country. Therefore, to strengthen the food safety control system from farm to table, not only needs the government to strengthen the legal supervision and management, enterprises to strengthen the sense of integrity, the scientific and technological circles to strengthen the basic scientific research on food safety, but also needs the media to transmit scientific information. Facing up to the challenges of food safety to mankind requires the joint efforts of the government, industry, science and technology, and the media.
