Laboratory Overview:

The Key Laboratory of Egg Processing of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs was established with the approval of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, relying on the scientific research entities established by Hubei Shendan Health Food Co., Ltd. and Huazhong Agricultural University. It is committed to the research on the nutrition mechanism and technology of traditional egg products, revealing the basic quality changes and process rules of eggs, developing and high quality new egg products, improving the key technology of egg processing, breaking through the bottleneck of industry development, and promoting the sustainable and healthy development of the egg industry.
The laboratory implements the operating mechanism of "open, mobile, joint, and competitive". There are currently 41 fixed technicians, including 4 professors and 3 associate professors. More than 80% of the personnel have doctoral degrees. Set up 3 laboratories: 1) egg nutrition and function laboratory; 2) egg processing laboratory; 3) quality testing and evaluation laboratory. In recent years, the laboratory has authorized 20 invention patents, 14 utility model patents, 4 national standards, 3 industry standards and 4 local standards.
