Recently, CCTV's "weekly quality report" broadcast the news of "red duck eggs" added with Sudan red feed, which immediately attracted the attention of food quality supervision departments all over the country, and then launched supervision and inspection activities in the field of egg production and circulation. Information from a number of cities confirmed that many markets have implemented emergency measures such as taking eggs off the shelves or stopping sales. Recently, the reporter received a message from Dr. Huang Xiaoping of Chongqing Food Industry Research Institute. The deputy director of the institute told reporters that the current media response has a single tendency. In fact, most of my country's egg companies are good, but there are few media outlets that stand up to speak for legal and honest companies. This seems to be a disaster for the Chinese egg industry.
In order to illustrate his point of view, Huang Xiaoping first issued the national sampling results, showing that most eggs are qualified and do not contain Sudan red. He believes that in the whole process of carrying out supervision and inspection and stopping the sale of eggs, in view of our lack of corresponding laws and regulations, while protecting the interests of consumers, there is a lack of protection for legal, honest and responsible food production enterprises and owners. With this tendency, it cannot be said that government management departments should take certain responsibilities. Objectively speaking, for food safety issues, the usual situation is this: either the daily supervision is not in place, or after the media reports, we have to use extensive management methods to respond. This time some places on all duck eggs, even other egg products, are banned is an irresponsible approach, I do not know what is the basis? In this regard, Huang Xiaoping said: "Now, it is time to formulate a unified, reasonable and standardized regulations. Only in this way can the law enforcement departments protect the normal production and sales of legal and honest enterprises while enforcing the law in accordance with relatively complete laws and regulations.
When Huang Xiaoping informed the relevant situation, he cited examples: Hubei Shendan Company and Jiangsu Sanhu Company are two leading local egg production and sales companies. Their eggs and duck egg products were found to contain Sudan Red in Fujian and Beijing markets. However, the test results from Hubei Provincial Quality Supervision Bureau and Jiangsu Provincial Quality Supervision Bureau showed that neither Sudan Red No. 1 nor Sudan Red No. 4 were detected in the egg products of these two companies. If the two places are testing the same batch of products, and the test results are different in different places, then which one is correct? On the contrary, if it is not the same batch of products, how do we know which one of the test results is correct and which one is wrong? According to Huang Xiaoping, the technical and equipment requirements for the detection of Sudan Red are very high. Judging from our past tests, there may be misjudgments. Now, our detection of Sudan red, the national standard method is high performance liquid chromatography. The reality is that this method is also worth improving. As food, the ingredients are complex. The peak time and peak shape of some ingredients may be consistent with those of Sudan red, and these substances are not harmful to human body. Therefore, the internationally accepted practice is to use mass spectrometry for further confirmation and identification on the basis of high-performance liquid phase detection. However, in the whole incident, the enterprise did not seem to receive the test report from the testing organization; it did not know what testing method was used by the testing organization; the enterprise was not told whether it agreed with the test results and judgment. Now the usual practice is to publish the results directly, followed by the media immediately reported, and enterprises only know that there is a problem with their products after the media disclosure. In this way, there is a possibility that if the test results are wrong or wrong, then who is responsible for the huge losses suffered by the relevant enterprises and the vast number of farmers who provide eggs for the enterprises? You know, sometimes a rumor can also make an industry suffer a huge loss. Therefore, in the process of supervision and inspection of food, it is necessary for us to improve and increase some procedures, so that while investigating and dealing with harmful food, we should also protect the legitimate interests of legitimate enterprises, species and farmers. Huang Xiaoping suggested that we should learn from the experience of developed countries in food safety management, improve my country's food safety laws and regulations, and formulate a series of appropriate, consistent and strict laws and regulations to strictly manage my country's food production and circulation. For example, the British Food Law stipulates that law enforcement agencies should inform relevant producers and distributors when sampling and inspecting food. Moreover, when the test results come out, if the food is unqualified, it may be the responsibility of the manufacturer or distributor. At this time, the manufacturer or distributor should be notified in the fastest way, such as fax or telephone. At the same time, the manufacturer or distributor must be notified in a formal written form, and both the manufacturer and the distributor have the right to comment on the test results.
