(About copper sulfate as a food additive for the production of preserved egg instructions)
Classification:
The following is the explanation on the use of copper sulfate in preserved egg production: 1. according to the detailed rules for the implementation of the replacement (issuance) of food additive production license, the food additives subject to production license management are divided into 19 units and 169 varieties, while copper sulfate is not within the scope of these 169 varieties. (See annex I).
The matters concerning the use of copper sulfate in the production of preserved eggs are explained as follows:
1., according to the detailed rules for the implementation of the replacement (issuance) of food additive production license, the food additives subject to production license management are divided into 19 units and 169 varieties, while copper sulfate is not within the scope of these 169 varieties. (See annex I).
2. According to GB 2760-2011 National Food Safety Standard-Standard for the Use of Food Additives, copper sulfate can be used as a processing aid for preserved egg processing. (See annex II).
The 3. food additive copper sulfate has GB 29210-2012 National Food Safety Standard Food Additive Copper Sulfate (see Annex III).
4. According to GB 7718-2010 National Food Safety Standard General Rules for the Labeling of Prepackaged Foods, processing aids do not need to be marked in the ingredient list. (See annex IV).
To sum up, the production of food additive copper sulfate has not been included in the scope of production license. As long as the products produced by regular enterprises meet the national standards of food additive copper sulfate, they can be used in the production process of preserved eggs.
